“The series is co-created by [George R. R. Martin] and Ryan Condal,” the announcement reads. “Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Condal will be writing the series.”
This news comes just hours after it was revealed that the untitled series to be led by Naomi Watts, also a prequel, was no longer moving forward with production.
House of the Dragon will presumably revolve around the Taragaryen dynasty. No time frame or release details have been announced at this time.
